Personnel of Zaporizhzhia NPP seized by Russians are tortured - Ministry of Energy

At the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (NPP) seized by Russian troops, the personnel have been held hostage for 4 days and tortured.

This was reported by Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko.

"The personnel of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant seized by the Russians are being tortured. Moreover, according to the information we have, the occupant troops have forced the management of the plant to write down an appeal, which they plan to use for propaganda purposes," the official said.

Thus, the minister notes, the propaganda machine of Russia will create another fake to show to its citizens and the international community to justify its own crimes.

ZNPP workers have been held hostage for four days - people are physically and psychologically exhausted.

About 500 Russian soldiers and 50 pieces of heavy equipment are inside the plant.

"We call on our international partners to take all measures to prohibit hostilities around the nuclear plants, withdraw occupation troops from the seized nuclear facilities and close the skies over Ukraine," Galushchenko said.

He stressed that an accident at nuclear power plants as a result of the use of weapons by Russian troops would lead to a disaster on a pan-European scale, and the responsibility for this would be entirely on Russia.

"If this happens, Europeans will have to change the comfort of their homes for radiation shelters. Together we must put an end to Russian nuclear terrorism. It must be done now-before it is too late," stresses the head of the Ministry of Energy.

We recall that yesterday it became known that the occupants at the Zaporizhzhia NPP were planning provocations and brought journalists and a lot of equipment.
