The Cabinet of Ministers has banned the accrual and collection of fines in case of untimely or incomplete payment for housing and communal services under martial law. This was stated by the Minister of Development of Communities and Territories Alexei Chernyshev.

According to him, at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on March 6, it was decided to pay for housing and communal services by the population under martial law.

"People should not bear the additional financial burden of paying for utilities. Therefore, the government has decided to prohibit the accrual, collection of fines or penalties, inflationary charges, annual interest in case of untimely or incomplete payment for housing and communal services," - the Minister stressed.

In case of non-payment or payment not in full, utilities will not be disconnected.

"At the same time, payment for utilities is a great support for utilities, which are now working in super difficult circumstances and need resources," Chernyshev added.
