Ukrainian parliament speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk advocated personal sanctions against each Russian State Duma deputy who voted for an appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin to recognize the "LPR" and "DPR".

"This is not just some act of escalation, but a continuation of the act of aggression against Ukraine," the parliamentarian said, commenting on the situation with the appeal to Putin.

Stefanchuk stressed that the whole world and Ukraine must respond adequately. According to him, one such response could be the imposition of sanctions on each deputy of the State Duma who voted for this decision.

"It would be fair, it would be adequate," he said.

Stefanchuk said that as a member of the National Security and Defense Council will propose such a decision for adoption at the NSDC.

At the same time, he noted that it is necessary to appeal to other parliaments of the world to apply personal sanctions to each of the deputies of the Russian State Duma who voted for this decision.
