A working group on changing the rules of procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will start working this week. It will be headed by the first deputy speaker Alexander Kornienko. This was announced during a meeting of the conciliation council of the parliament by speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk. He noted that the order to create a working group to improve the provisions of the Rada's regulations will be signed this week, and the group will start working immediately.
According to Stefanchuk, the parliamentary regulations must become a "system of procedures" in which each function of the Verkhovna Rada will be provided by the corresponding regulations.
"We must move to the fact that the provisions of the Regulations will be a prerequisite for the transformation of the Parliament as a whole. This and the creation of a research analytical center under the parliament, the restoration of the parliamentary library, the support of fundamental bills," he noted.
Earlier, Oleksandr Korniyenko said in an interview with "Suspilniy" that the draft law on changing the rules of parliament may be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada before the end of 2021, and the final vote is planned for January 2022.
