Europe remains the only region in the world where COVID incidence is growing

According to the World Health Organization, Europe remains the only region in the world where COVID cases have been increasing for the second week in a row.

 

As noted in WHO, for the week 25-31 October, the number of new infections worldwide has increased by 3% over the previous week to 3 021 634.

 

The number of deaths increased by 8% over the previous week to 50,477.

 

Europe recorded a 6% increase in coronavirus cases from the previous week. Other regions reported declines or similar rates.

 

Southeast Asian regions (50%) and Europe (12%) reported the largest increases in deaths for the week.
