The Russians drove the AFU out of two positions near Donetsk and Bakhmut

Russian troops dislodged the Armed Forces of Ukraine from two positions near Donetsk and Bakhmut in the course of combat operations. Oleksiy Gromov, deputy head of the Main Operative Directorate of the General Staff of the AFU, said this at a briefing.

According to him, during a massive use of Russian artillery and an offensive near Dolomitnoye and the Uglegorsk thermal power plant in the direction of Kodema, the enemy managed to push the Ukrainian forces out. The armed forces were forced to leave Semigorye and switch to defenses on the eastern outskirts of Kodema.

"On July 30, as a result of the enemy's active use of aviation, artillery and multiple rocket launchers, and the conduct of active offensive assault actions in the direction of Spartak - Avdeevka, the defense force units were forced to leave the Butovka mine and switch to the defense south of the Avdeevka settlement," Gromov added.
