The president believes that it is not appropriate to resolve this issue today, when there are Russian tanks in Ukraine and cities are being shelled.
President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that agreements to resolve the Crimea issue diplomatically within 10-15 years as of today would be a victory for Ukraine.
The head of state said this in an interview with Ukrainian journalists, which was broadcast on the news marathon.
According to Zelensky, first of all, it is necessary to give yourself an answer: is Ukraine capable of returning Crimea today not by diplomatic means?
He stressed that Ukraine's proposal to resolve the issue of Crimea diplomatically during this period can be supported with a probability of 10-15%.
"Because 10-15 years is not about not bringing up the subject of Crimea, but it is an agreement of the parties that during this time, the parties should solve the issue of Crimea diplomatically. That is, not to solve it now, but to solve it tomorrow," the president said.
At the same time, he pointed out that such a solution is not bad for today, but for tomorrow there may be another solution to this issue.
"If there were such agreements today, it would be a victory for Ukraine," he said.
He stressed that today "batchly solve all disputes" and end the war with Russia at the same time "is difficult and unlikely."
Zelensky believes that "some things to solve" today, when there are Russian tanks in Ukraine and cities are shelled, is not appropriate. Because in such a situation, society will not understand such decisions.
"No one will hear you - and rightly so will society, because missiles are flying, and you are talking about something," the president added.
Zelensky stressed that to Russia there is "our main position: leave our territory.
