Ukrainian Muslims received a fatwa to go to war

Sheikh Said Ismagilov, Mufti of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine "Umma," appealed to the Muslims of the country to help in the fight against Russian aggression.

"As-salamu alaikum, dear Ukrainians! Dear brothers and sisters!

In this difficult time, I call you all to defend Ukraine against Russian armed aggression. Those of you who can be soldiers, join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and territorial defense battalions. And those who cannot be soldiers, become volunteers and help the army. Only together will we repel aggression and liberate the occupied territories of Crimea and Donbass. In our unity and joint efforts the way to a strong, free prosperous Ukraine", says Sheikh Said Ismagilov.

As Ismagilov noted, Muslims with representatives of all other faiths constitute a single Ukrainian nation, and reminded that the life, dignity and property of a Muslim are inviolable.

"A man came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him!) and asked: what shall I do if a criminal comes with a gun to take away what belongs to me? The Prophet of Islam said, "And you take arms and defend yourself!"

Expressing faith in victory with the help of Allah, the sheikh urged Muslims to defend Ukrainian statehood and independence,

"With the help of Allah Almighty, we will win! We have truth and justice with us!

May Allah Almighty be merciful to Ukraine and all the Ukrainian people!", said Sheikh Said Ismagilov.
