Kyiv: In Estonia, the Harju County Court found the former officer of the Estonian Defense Forces Deniss Metsavas and his father Pjotr Volin guilty of treason and espionage and sentenced them to 15.5 and 6 years of imprisonment, respectively.

It is reported by the press service of the State Prosecutor of Estonia.

“The Harju County Court found the former officer of the Estonian Defense Forces Deniss Metsavas and his father Pjotr Volin guilty of treason. Metsavas sentenced to 15 years and 6 months in prison. Volin was sentenced to 6 years in prison,” the statement reads.

It is noted that the court found the men guilty of transmitting information and secret information intended for internal use to the General Directorate General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

We recall that the UK police believe that five Russian citizens may be involved in the poisoning of Sergey and Yulia Skripal.
