Kyiv: The indicative plan for the construction of the trans-European transport network TEN-T includes 39 Ukrainian infrastructure projects, which are provided by the Drive Ukraine 2030 strategy. Almost 4.5 billion euros are provided for these projects.

About this on Friday, January 18, said Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan.

The plan has been prepared by the EU and the World Bank for the development of transport links in the Eastern Partnership countries.

According to the minister, the implementation of these 39 projects will significantly deepen the infrastructure integration of Ukraine and in the future become an organic part of the European transport network.

"When we say that the implementation of Drive Ukraine costs about $60 billion, then in the first year of its implementation we have at least 50% of funding from the state budget and 10% of funding from our European partners, international financial organizations and through a public-private partnership," clarified Omelyan.

This week, the European Commission decided on the amount of investment needed to implement cross-border transport network projects in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.

They will cost about 13 billion euros and provide for the construction of a total of 4.8 thousand kilometers of highways and railways, 6 ports and 11 logistics centers, as well as airports and border crossing points.

Priority investments include both short-term projects that will be completed by 2020 and long-term projects aimed at improving transport links in the framework of TEN-T until 2030.
