Kyiv: Ukraine and NATO have signed a number of agreements to begin the practical phase of bilateral cooperation in the disposal of explosive objects and countering improvised explosive devices.

This is reported by the Mission of Ukraine to NATO on its Facebook.

The documents were signed by the heads of missions of Ukraine and Slovakia to NATO and the General Manager of the NATO Support and Supply Agency.

"The experts of the Alliance will provide assistance to Ukrainian specialists in the development of unified rules for the neutralization of explosive objects and countering improvised explosive devices in Ukraine in accordance with the approaches of NATO," the statement said.

We are talking about the development of doctrinal guidance documents in the field of countering improvised explosive devices; achievement of compatibility of attracted forces and means of Ukraine with the Alliance; developing opportunities to protect civilians from the threat of improvised explosive devices; practical training of Ukrainian specialists and the provision of material and technical assistance.

We recall that the US Embassy in Ukraine welcomed the draft law On Mine Action adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, the Parliament of Ukraine.
