Moscow-Kyiv: Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova reacted sharply to the question of the journalist of Finnish television about people with non-traditional sexual orientation in the Chechen Republic.

"Dear Mr. Kadyrov, today we have a representative of the Finnish television Erka Mikkone at the briefing, who is very interested in the issue of the presence of gays in Chechnya or their absence. This is not a question for the official representative of the Foreign Ministry. Could you organize this journalist a study tour to the Chechen Republic, where he can find answers to all his questions, " Zakharova said.

She also added that this is not a joke and, if the journalist wishes, the Foreign Ministry "will directly engage in sending a journalist to Chechnya" and advised Erke Mikkone to make a "good report" from the republic.

Earlier, Zakharova responded to the statement of the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Pavel Klimkin, about Princess Anna Yaroslavna and Alexander Pushkin, writing that Klimkin "has not yet dealt with Gogol before grabbing Alexander Pushkin."
