KYIV (FNI)  - Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree regarding the dismissal of Roman Romanov, the leader of the Ukrainian Defense Industry Ukroboronprom. Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman urged Romanov to resign at the end of 2017.

"Romanov Roman Anatolyevich to be dismissed from the post of general director of the State Enterprise Ukroboronprom,” the decree of Poroshenko reports.

Earlier, Romanov said that he had made a decision to resign by himself. He claims writing a letter of resignation last year.

"I decided to leave my post of  Ukroboronprom's leader. I wrote a statement last year. I hope that Petro Poroshenko, the president of Ukraine, will support my decision, " the former leader of enterprise says.

On January 31st,  Vladimir Groysman, Prime Minister of Ukraine, said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers that he would insist on the Roman Romanov’s dismissal. He also invited President Petro Poroshenko to face this issue. Groysman says that he gave Romanov enough time to resign by himself, but since he did not manage to do that, the issue will be submitted to the government.
