Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has named conditions under which
Ukrainians can refuse to cross the border to the countries of the European
Union, the Department of Consular Service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry
"A citizen of Ukraine may be refused entry to the EU countries on a visa-free basis, provided that the citizen: is on the list of persons posing a threat to public order, public health or internal security; Is on the list of persons whose entry into at least one EU country is prohibited; Convicted in any EU country for crimes that provide for a criminal penalty of imprisonment for at least one year, "the report said.
The department added that the ban on entry to the European Union can apply to Ukrainian citizens who are objects of the decision to deport from the country to which they are sent. In particular, in cases of illegal stay on the territory of that country earlier.
Also, among the grounds for the ban on travel to the EU are cases where there is evidence of a citizen's participation in criminal activities or evidence of intent to participate in such activities, and if the citizen does not have all the necessary documents to prove the purpose of the trip.
Yesterday, the State Border Service reported that for visa-free trips to the EU children need to have a biometric passport.
