Kyiv: Today, November 29, at the initiative of the United States, South Korea and Japan, an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council will be held.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, "strongly condemns" the launch of another ballistic missile by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), his spokesman said.

"This is a clear violation of the resolutions of the Security Council and shows a complete disregard for the opinion of the international community," said United Nations spokesman Stephane Dujarric in a statement issued immediately after the launch of the DPRK intercontinental ballistic missile on Tuesday.

"The Secretary-General urges the DPRK to refrain from any further destabilizing steps. The Secretary-General reaffirms his commitment to working with all parties to reduce tensions," said Mr. Dujarrik.

Meanwhile, today the Security Council plans to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the launch of North Korean missiles.

Recall, November 28, North Korea launched an unidentified ballistic missile.
