Bogota: US Vice President Mike Pence flew to Colombia today, August 13.
"On behalf of the US President, we fly to Colombia, where we plan to meet with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos later," Pence wrote in his Twitter.
Mike Pence will be in Central and South America from August 13 to 16. During the visit, he plans to meet with the presidents of Colombia, Argentina, Chile and Panama. It is expected that one of the main topics of the meeting will be the situation in Venezuela, where mass protests against President Nicolas Maduro's policy continue.
In recent months, Pence has visited South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Australia, Estonia, Georgia and Montenegro. He also took part in international summits in Munich and Brussels.
