Toronto: Canadian pastor Lim Hyun-soo, released from North Korea prison, has returned to Toronto, Canada, the country's government reported.
"Canada is actively involved in the case of Mr. Lim at all levels, and we will continue to support him and his family now that he has returned," the statement said.
On Wednesday, August 9, the DPRK released a Canadian pastor from prison in connection with his illness
Lim Hyun Soo was detained in December 2015 and sentenced to life imprisonment for hard labor. He was accused of plotting and trying to overthrow the regime of North Korea. The pastor himself traveled to the DPRK many times to help elderly people and orphans. At the end of 2016, Canadian diplomats came to him to help him further release.
