Russians start installing anti-drone nets around their refineries

The Russian oil company Bashneft has installed anti-drone nets to protect key facilities at its refineries from a possible attack by Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan (RF), Reuters reports.

Russian companies that sell such protection show on their websites giant metal nets that almost completely cover the buildings of oil refineries from all sides. They are held in place by mooring ropes attached to metal posts stuck in the ground.

Radiy Khabirov, head of the Bashkortostan Republic in the Urals, where Bashneft is based, said that talks are underway with the Russian Defense Ministry to strengthen security at the refineries.

"We have provided the main columns (of the refinery) with mechanical protective nets, and, accordingly, the surveillance system is working," Khabirov was quoted as saying by the local state news agency Bashinform.
