Ukraine controls only two villages in the Luhansk region - the head of the RFA

Today, Ukraine controls only two settlements in the Luhansk region, from which it is dangerous to evacuate people, Serhii Gaidai, the head of the regional military administration, said.

"A very small part (controlled by Ukraine in the Luhansk region) is two settlements, on the territory of which the active phase of hostilities is taking place. It is impossible to come there and evacuate people, because it is dangerous both for those who will be there and for those who will want to evacuate... These are literally two villages - there are constant battles, shelling from various weapons, so it is deadly dangerous to leave there," he said at a briefing in the "Ukraine - Ukrinform" media center.

The head of the OVA also noted that approximately 350 civilians remain in the region. At the same time, according to him, the possibility to evacuate is still relevant for the residents of Luhansk Oblast in general, and he reminded that there are three ways to leave.

"The first is through the dam, through the Kharkiv region. The only thing is that there is only a pedestrian crossing. The second option is through the Zaporizhia region. And the third option is longer and more expensive, the tickets cost so much, it is through Russia, through the Baltic countries, but this will cost around 300 euros," Gaidai clarified.
