Sweden promised to extradite more than 70 terrorists to Turkey - Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the conclusion of a trilateral memorandum that unblocked the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO a "diplomatic victory". This was reported by Anadolu.

"What happened in the context of Sweden and Finland's application to join NATO revealed Turkey's red lines on the issue of terrorism. This memorandum is a diplomatic victory for Turkey after a difficult negotiation process," Erdogan stressed at a news conference Thursday.

"Sweden has promised to extradite 73 terrorists to Turkey. This (joining NATO) will not take effect unless our parliament approves it. Sweden and Finland must fulfill their obligations," the Turkish leader added.
