Occupiers control about 20% of Ukraine's territory - Zelensky

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has seized more than 3,600 settlements, more than a thousand of which have already been liberated. This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky during an address to the Luxembourg Parliament.

 

"Russian troops have entered 3,620 settlements in Ukraine, 1,017 of them have managed to liberate. Another 2,603 remain to be liberated," he noted.

 

According to the president, as of now about 20% of Ukraine's territory is under Russian control, which is almost 125 thousand square kilometers.

 

"About 300 thousand square kilometers are contaminated by mines, shells that have not exploded. Almost 12 million people have become internally displaced, more than 5 million have gone abroad," Zelensky summarized.
