Zelensky signed the law on confiscation of assets of the sub-sanctioned persons

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the Law "On amendments to some laws of Ukraine on increasing the effectiveness of sanctions related to the assets of certain persons", adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on May 12, 2022. This is reported by the press service of the OP.

The law provides for new sanctions through the recovery in favor of the state of the assets of an individual or a legal entity and the criteria by which persons are subject to such sanctions.

"The procedure for identifying and confiscating the assets of sub-sanctioned persons, in one way or another supporting the aggression of the occupiers against Ukraine, will allow to quickly and effectively replenish the Ukrainian budget at the expense of the enemies", - said Zelensky.

Thus, it has been determined that the central executive body, which ensures the implementation of state policy in the field of recovery of assets of persons to the state, will be responsible for finding assets and appealing to the court. It is expected that such a body will be the Ministry of Justice.

In addition, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) will carry out administrative proceedings on cases of sanctions through recovery of assets for the benefit of the state.
