Washington: The administration of US President Donald Trump is preparing the latest package of restrictive measures against the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, Reuters reported.
This month, the US State Department has already informed European companies involved in the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline of the risk of new sanctions.
The State Department is expected to publish a report this week identifying companies that are helping to complete the pipeline from Russia to Germany.
The sources also add that the list may include companies that are involved in insurance, laying the subsea pipeline and checking equipment for the project.
Thus, the insurance group Zurich Insurance Group is one of the companies that may be subject to sanctions.
Let us remind you that the gas pipeline from Russia to Germany, the length of which exceeds 1200 kilometers, is 94% built. A year ago, thanks to US sanctions, the construction of Nord Stream 2 was suspended.
