Washington: Democratic presidential nominee of U.S. Joe Biden pledges he will sign document about LGBT rights, known also as Equality Act, if he wins the elections.
He claimed that in the interview with Philadelphia Gay News.
Besides that, Biden hopes that he will be able to sign Equality Act during first 100 days after seizing a power, as he called the document ,,highest priority of his job’’ as a president.
,,To help achieve our vision of equality, I will make enactment of the Equality Act a top legislative priority during my first 100 days — a priority that Donald Trump opposes’’, he said.
Current U.S. presidential administration opposes that act. Besides that, White House stated frequently that the act ,,would undermine parents' and conscience rights’’, also ,,limit homosexuals’ rights on behalf of religious liberty’’.
Previously, U.S. secretary of defense Mark Esper signed order prohibiting placement of Confederation and LGBT flags in military facilities.
