Kyiv: High Anti-corruption Court of Ukraine didn’t satisfy prosecutor’s appeal about arrest of Ukrainian ex-president Viktor Yanukovych in absentia due to case of ,,Mezhigorye’’ complex.

,,On October 26, investigating judge of High Anti-corruption Court rejected SAP (Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office) prosecutor’s appeal about preventive measure towards fourth president of Ukraine who has been concealing himself from the investigation since 2014. He is suspected in criminal offence specified article 191, paragraph 5 (misappropriation, embezzlement), article 209, paragraph 3 (money-laundering), article 368, paragraph 5 (acceptance of an offer, or taking bribes)’’, the statement says.
Viktor Yanukovych, former president of Ukraine, fled the country in 2014. According to the decision of Obolon Court of Kyiv, Yanukovych was convicted of treason and sentenced to 13 years in prison.
