Kyiv: President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko should no longer be recognized as president from November 5 – date of expiring of his term. 

It was stated by Lithuanian deputy of European Parliament (EP) Petras Austrevicius, Reuters reports.

,,Once the term of office for the incumbent authoritarian leader Alexander Lukashenko expires on 5 November, parliament will no longer recognize him as the president of the country," the statement says.

Besides that, it was emphasized that The EU refuses any cooperation with Lukashenko’s regime after term expiring. 

,,The EU needs a new approach toward Belarus, which includes the termination of any cooperation with Lukashenko’s regime’’, Austrevicius remarked.

According to Central Election Commission of Belarus, current president Alexander Lukashenko won the elections with 80,1 % of vote.
