Brussels: Former presidential nominee of Belarus and leader of the opposition Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya was invited to visit European Parliament.
Tsikhanouskaya received that offer from president of European Parliament David Sassoli.
,,Today I had a conversation with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya about alarming situation in Belarus. She accepted our invitation in European Parliament’’, Sassoli stated via Twitter.
Mass protests began in Belarus after August 9, when local Central Election Commission published the presidential vote results which was won by current head of state Alexander Lukashenko.
According these results, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya was second with 10,1 % of vote.
