Kyiv: People’s deputies of Ukraine voted for recognizing presidential election of Belarus as illegitimate. The decision was supported by 228 members of parliament.
,,Verkhovnaya Rada (Ukrainian legislature – ed.) considers that presidential election of Belarus weren’t neither free nor fair. It was held with complete absence of competition between nominees, free media and credible international observers such as OSCE or European Council (EC)’’, the document says.
Besides that, according to order presidential vote was conducted in the background of substantial breach of protocol, lots of refusals on nominees’ registrations, opaque process of vote count.
,,We regard intimidation of opponents as unacceptable same as their arrests, creating obstacles to involve independent observers in polling stations, violating voters’ right for free will and having total control over Central Election Commission of Belarus’’, the document adds.
Previously, FM of European Union Josep Borrell announced that EU regards Lukashenko as illegitimate president of Belarus owing to falsifying vote results.
