Kyiv: United States Geological Survey officials reported a magnitude 6.4 earthquake that hit the coast of the Indonesian island of Halmacher, the USGS said in a statement.
"Tremors were recorded at 8.49 UTC." At the same time, the agency also emphasized: The earthquake focus lies at a depth of 106 kilometers.
"The epicenter of tremors was located 134 kilometers north of the city of Tobelo," the department added.
According to local authorities, there are no destructions, casualties and injured from the earthquake. However, the Geological Survey added that the threat of the consequences of the earthquake increased to "green level", which means a low probability of "casualties and economic damage."
