Brussels: A professional National Health Service and procurement agency are critical to the success of the reform, the EU Delegation in Ukraine said in a statement.
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, reforming the healthcare system in Ukraine is a “top priority”.
“A professional National Health Service and a procurement agency are critical to the success of the reform and should be strengthened, in particular, by the creation of independent supervisory boards and an open choice of managers based on professionalism. The EU monitors the election of the interim head of the National Health Service. It is important that a full-fledged competition takes place after quarantine”, says the message on the official page of the representative office on Twitter.
Similar statements were also published in the embassies of the United States and Great Britain in Ukraine.
“We are ready to continue partnerships with the government of Ukraine to strengthen the independence of institutions such as the NSHU. We are also working together to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences”, the US diplomatic office emphasized.
As previously reported, the candidates for the post of head of the National Health Service of Ukraine are acting Oksana Movchan, Chairperson of the NSHU, Natalya Ryabtseva, Deputy Chairperson of the NSHU, and Andrey Vilensky, Director of the Department of Contractual Work of the NSHU.
