Kyiv: President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky considers the decision that the Georgian authorities made in response to the appointment of Mikheil Saakashvili to be the head of the National Council of Reforms a mistake.
As the head of the Ukrainian Government noted, the recall of the Ambassador of Georgia to Ukraine Teimuraz Sharashenidze for consultations will make it clear that "the personnel policy of each country concerns only that country and the citizens who live in it."
“In spite of everything, we will not recall our ambassador to Ukraine, because relations between our countries are longer term than any leadership ... It seems to me that this is a mistake of the Georgian side. After consultations, all parties will understand that the personnel policy of each country concerns only that country and the citizens who live in it. In order not to offend anyone, I think this is our policy. Mr. Saakashvili is a citizen of Ukraine ... and I am the president of Ukraine, who appointed him, ” he emphasized.
President Zelensky signed a decree appointing Mikheil Saakashvili to the post of chairman of the National Reform Council.
