Kyiv: Ahtem Ciygoz, deputy head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, detained in Crimea, was not allowed to leave his prison for the funeral of his mother.
"Just that the wife of Ahtem Ciygoz, Elmira Ablyalimova, tried to transfer to the Simferopol jail the application for giving him the opportunity today to take part in the funeral ceremony for his mother. The duty officer refused to accept - Sunday, the office was closed, there was no boss, "said Chiygoza's lawyer on his Facebook page.
This morning, July 2, the mother of deputy head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ahtem Ciygoz, Alie Chiygoz, died. Ciygoz's lawyers insisted on his personal presence during the funeral of his mother.
Ciygoz was detained in January 2015 for participating in a rally for the territorial integrity of Ukraine in front of the Supreme Council of the Crimea in February 2014. The head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov was not allowed to Crimea to participate in the court case against Ahtem Ciyhoz in late May.
Let's note, Ciygoz has had time to say goodbye to mother on June, 20th when the occupation authorities of Crimea have allowed them to meet in Bakhchisaray.
