Kiev: Access for the OSCE SMM observers remained limited over the weekend, in particular at the checkpoints of Russian armed forces near the occupied Zaichenko and Novoazovsk. This is stated in a report published on the OSCE website.
"On November 16 and 17, at a checkpoint north of the village of Zaichenko (uncontrolled by the government, 93 km south of Donetsk), armed members of the armed forces denied mission patrols south to the village of Sakhanka (uncontrolled by the government, 97 km south from Donetsk) and west to the village of Pikuzy (formerly Kominternovo; uncontrolled by the government, 92 km south of Donetsk), citing "dangerous conditions" and the fact that "demining is ongoing", - the report says .
In addition, on November 16 and 17 at a checkpoint north of the settlement Novoazovsk (uncontrolled by the government, 102 km south of Donetsk), members of Russian armed groups refused to allow the Mission patrols to travel, citing the fact that "the exercises are continuing", - the Mission added.
Also on November 17 at a checkpoint located northeast of the settlement Gorlovka (uncontrolled by the government, 39 km northeast of Donetsk), two armed militants "allowed the Mission patrol to pass only after inspecting the luggage carriers of the SMM vehicles".
