Kiev: US Permanent Representative to the EU Gordon Sondland informed several representatives of the US Presidential Administration Donald Trump about the readiness of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to begin an investigation into the activities of former US Vice President Joseph Biden and his son Hunter. This was reported on Sunday by The Wall Street Journal, citing data from electronic correspondence.
The publication notes that Sondland reported this to the Acting Chief of Staff of the White House Mick Mulveni, as well as US Secretary of Energy Rick Perry.
In particular, in mid-July of this year, Sondland asked Tim Morrison, the former senior director for Russian affairs of the White House National Security Council, to plan a telephone conversation between Trump and Zelensky. Morrison, in particular, advised restricting access to recording Trump's conversation with Zelensky.
"I just spoke with Zelensky. He is ready to receive the president’s call (USA). He will assure him that he plans to launch an absolutely transparent investigation, during which he will not miss a single detail", - he said.
