Kiev: The United States Department of the Treasury broadened sanctions against Iran and included nine people in the sanctions list from the country's top leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
It is reported by Radio Liberty.
It is noted that people on the list of sanctions are involved in attacks on American facilities abroad, as well as in the killing and torture of Iranian citizens.
“Among those who fell under the sanctions are the son of Khamenei Mojtab, the chief of the Iranian general staff, General Mohammad Bagheri, the head of the Khamenei administration, Mohammad Golpaegani, as well as Wahid Haganian, who is called the“ right hand ”of the Iranian leader”, - the statement said.
Khamenei said earlier that holding talks with Washington would not solve Tehran’s problem.
In addition, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif has accused the US of starting a “cyber war”, - which, he said, is being fought against Iran.
