Kiev: Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Ryaboshapka denies the pressure of the president and his office on the work of his department.
“To say that the president or the president’s office presses us, it seems to me that this is not entirely correct. Moreover, we see that the authorities are trying to work regardless of the political affiliation of the defendants or subjects of criminal investigations, and I do not exclude that we will soon we’ll also be able to see that those who are close to the ruling political force are also being held accountable”, - Ryaboshapka said on the air of ICTV.
He recalled that the Prosecutor General’s Office is conducting an audit against one of the people's deputies and will inform about the results of this audit in the near future. “For example, a correspondence has recently been held with one of the people's deputies. I think that we will soon inform about the results of this check”, - he added.
