Kiev: The Turkish army resumed attacks on the city of Ras al-Ain in northeastern Syria on Friday, October 18, despite a ceasefire, Al Mayadeen reported, citing Kurdish sources.
According to the Syrian state agency SANA, the Turkish military launched artillery attacks on several villages located in the Ras al Ain area. Al Arabiya TV channel reports that militants of armed groups of the Syrian opposition fighting on the side of Ankara attacked a humanitarian convoy bound for Ras al-Ain.
Earlier, Reuters reported that shelling and collisions resumed in the city, shooting was heard and smoke from shelling was visible over several city blocks.
Turkish authorities have not yet commented on this information.
