Kiev: In the capital of China, was held the opening of the CITIC Tower skyscraper, which became the tallest in the city and entered the top ten highest buildings in the world.
It is reported by Dezeen.
“The CITIC Tower, built by Kohn Pedersen Fox, the US design bureau, has become the tallest in Beijing, China’s fourth tallest skyscraper and the eighth tallest skyscraper in the world”, - the report said.
The height of the new building erected in the center of Beijing is 528 meters. It has 109 floors.
The shape of the tower is rather unusual: wide at the base, it narrows in the middle and expands again on the upper floors.
According to architects, the ancient Chinese ritual vessel zun of the Bronze Age inspired them to such a form of the house.
The Kohn Pedersen Fox Design Bureau, founded in 1974, is the author of many tall buildings around the world, four of which are included in the list of 10 tallest skyscrapers in the world.
