Kiev: The Italian parliament supported a bill providing for a significant reduction in the number of deputies in the country's legislature.

It is reported that 553 members of the Chamber of Deputies supported the bill, 14 parliamentarians opposed, and two more abstained.
Earlier, a reduction in the number of deputies in parliament was supported by a majority in the Senate.
According to the adopted document, the number of deputies in both chambers of the Italian parliament should be reduced from the current 945 to 600. The upper house, the Senate, will have 200 parliamentarians in the future, not 315, and the lower house, the Chamber of Deputies, will have 400 seats, according to the adopted bill. not 630, as it is now.
Recall that in early September, members of the Italian party "5 Star Movement" voted in support of the formation of a government with the Democratic Party. This avoided early elections.
