Kiev: Polish President Andrzej Duda and US President Donald Trump discussed energy policy in Europe and measures that can be applied to stop the construction of the Russian Nord Stream-2 offshore pipeline.
This is stated in a published statement following a meeting of two presidents in New York, DW reports.
“Both presidents agreed that Nord Stream-2 is a threat to Europe’s energy security and discussed how best to stop this project,” the document says.
Note that the meeting of Duda and Trump took place during the meeting of the UN General Assembly.
On September 17, it became known that the construction of Nord Stream-2 approached the economic zone of Denmark. In the future, the construction of the pipeline will be stopped until Denmark issues all the necessary permits.
