Kyiv: Members of the British House of Commons supported the proposal of Prime Minister Theresa May to postpone the Brexit deadline from March 29 to June 30, 2019.
This is reported by the British media.
412 deputies voted for this proposal, 202 against.
The government also notes that if the UK still needs to postpone it for a longer period, then the country will have to take part in the next elections to the European Parliament.
This decision of the British Parliament means that now May will ask the EU to allow the postponement of the UK exit from the EU.
For this proposal to be approved, it must be supported by all the other 27 EU members.
We recall that the UK will not have a transition period after Brexit if its Parliament does not accept the agreement on secession from the EU.
