Kyiv: President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko assured that the state has freed from cultural occupation when the Ukrainian language reached a new level. This is reported by the local media.
“We have freed from cultural occupation, which is no less dangerous than a physical occupation. Over the past five years, the Ukrainian language, the Ukrainian-language song, the Ukrainian-language book, the Ukrainian-language cinema have gained reliable positions in the space around us, and most importantly in our hearts, the hearts of all Ukrainians,” said the head of state at the celebration of the anniversary of Taras Shevchenko.
The President assured that only now our language is at the level at which it should be.
“We were able to do it wisely, without violating the rights of speakers of other languages ... We stopped the many years of humiliation when the Ukrainian language in Ukraine had to literally saved. Today, its position is stronger than ever. Today we already have higher ambitions - to represent our culture and language in such a way that the whole world appreciates its beauty and strength,” Poroshenko noted.
We recall that President Poroshenko said that Ukraine is resolutely moving into NATO and continues to develop new weapons, including missiles.
