Kyiv: In the north of India, 39 people died and more than 20 were hospitalized due to bootleg alcohol poisoning.
It is reported by The Guardian.
“Two deadly incidents were recorded - 26 people died in the state of Uttar Pradesh, and 13 people died in the neighboring state of Uttarakhand. It was found that bootleg alcohol contained toxic methanol," said in a statement.
The authorities of both states suspended 35 officials, including 12 police officers.
