Kyiv: The European Commission has significantly reduced its forecast for GDP growth in the eurozone in the current 2019.
This is reported by the Western media, citing data from the European Commission.
The production volumes of the 19 Eurogroup countries in 2019 will probably increase by 1.3% and in 2020 by 1.6%.
Earlier, in the fall, the European Commission predicted a growth of 1.9% in 2019 and 1.7% for 2020.
It is also noted that in all EU countries the economy will grow by 1.5% in the current year and by 1.7% in the next (in the autumn forecast, the figures were 1.9% in 2019 and 1.8% in 2020).
Changes in the forecasts are associated with the deterioration of the corresponding estimates of Germany, Italy, and France.
As predicted by the European Commission, Germany’s GDP in the current year will grow by 1.1% (in the previous forecast this indicator was 1.8%), France - 1.3%, Italy - 0.2%.
