Kyiv: The Orthodox Church of Ukraine is ready for reform. This was announced on Saturday, January 19, by the head of the OCU Metropolitan Epiphanius.
According to him, the path of reform will not be easy.
"Reforms are always a difficult and painful issue. We are ready for the gradual implementation of reforms, but we see, even by the example of the state, how difficult it is to implement reforms. During even these five years, there is much talk about reforms, but when reform directly concerns or otherwise, certain complaints begin. And we have to go this way of reform, but gradually, wisely, soberly, without any complaints or disputes," said the metropolitan.
According to the head of the OCU, the need for this or that reform need to be explained to the people.
“Of course, the single church will pay a lot of attention to ensure that young people strive for the church, go to churches, attend services. Therefore, after we form the appropriate bodies, we will create an appropriate synodal department for youth affairs,” Epiphanius added.
