Kyiv: The Ecumenical Patriarchate announced on Monday, January 14, the text of Tomos on the granting of autocephaly to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
The text of the document is published in English, Greek and Ukrainian.
"With this signed Patriarchal and Synodal Tomos, we recognize and proclaim the Autocephalous Church established within the territory of Ukraine as our spiritual daughter and call upon all world Orthodox Churches to recognize her as a sister and to remember under the name of "The Most Holy Church of Ukraine" as such, which has the chair of the historical city of Kyiv, cannot put bishops or establish parishes outside the state, the existing ones now obey, according to the order, the Universal Throne, which has full canonical in the Diaspora, since the jurisdiction of this Church is limited to the territory of the Ukrainian state," the document says.
As reported, on January 5, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew signed Tomos about the autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. On Sunday, January 6, the presentation of Tomos and the Divine Liturgy were held at the Patriarchal Church of St. George on Phanar, which was jointly conducted by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epiphanius.
