Kyiv: Armenian President Armen Sarkissian on Monday, January 14, signed a decree appointing Nikol Pashinyan Prime Minister of the Republic.
The press service of the head of Armenia reports.
“Taking as a basic part 1 of article 149 of the Constitution of Armenia, appoint Pashinyan as prime minister of Armenia,” the presidential decree says.
According to the basic law of Armenia, the political force that constituted an absolute parliamentary majority nominates a candidate for the post of prime minister, who is appointed automatically, by a decree of the head of state.
Within 15 days a new government of Armenia should be formed.
