Kyiv: US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo said that the withdrawal of the US military from Syria will not affect Washington’s ability to conduct military operations in the region if necessary. This was the head of the State Department said during communication with journalists.
Pompeo underscores that the US goal is to completely get rid of the presence of Iranian forces in Syria.
“This is an ambitious goal. But this is our goal. This is our mission. The methods that we will use are varied. The fact that a couple of thousand uniformed personnel leave Syria is a tactical change. This does not significantly change our ability to continue to perform military operations, which we need," said the Secretary of State.
