Tbilisi: De facto, the authorities of the occupied territories of Georgia have closed the so-called borders due to swine flu.
According to the decision of the de facto representatives of “South Ossetia”, “on January 11, from 8:00 pm, the work of the state border crossing points with Georgia will be temporarily suspended”.
In the morning the message on the Inguri Bridge was also discontinued. Only employees of “IngurGES” and those people who have an invitation from the so-called Abkhaz authorities can go into occupied Abkhazia.
Abkhazia imposed restrictions for a period of two months, while in Tskhinvali they say that "the border will be closed until subsequent orders".
Laboratory confirmed that 13 people have become victims of the swine flu virus (H1N1 is a subtype of the influenza A virus) in Georgia over the past month.
The National Center for Disease Control of the Ministry of Health of Georgia states that there are no reasons for panic over the reported deaths of the disease, as well as the threat of an epidemic.
