Jakarta: Indonesian authorities warned locals of extreme weather conditions that await the country because of the Anak Krakatau volcano, which continues to erupt. This is reported by Western journalists.
“We are closely watching all the aftershocks in the area of the volcano, so there is a possibility that we will be able to predict when a new storm will come,” said the chairman of the Indonesian meteorological agency Dwikorita Karnawati.
We recall that the tsunami covered two Indonesian islands - Java and Sumatra. The catastrophe happened in the Sunda Strait region, on December 22, at about 21:30 local time. The cause of the tsunami was a large landslide in the sea, which caused the eruption of Krakatau volcano.
